These children come from a poor farming community. Many walk for up to an hour by themselves to come to school. In 2024 275 children were enrolled at the Kitiibwa School.

The Kitiibwa School was started in 2016 at the CSI Farm Church in Luweero by Hellen Birime with 15 children. The classes were moved to the trading center of Kito because it was dangerous for the children to walk in such a remote area by themselves.

The children are very serious about learning. It is a privilege to be able to attend school. Education is not free in Uganda.

But thanks to sponsors, these children are receiving  a good Christian Education.

It is very unusual for village schools to have playground equipment. Many of the village people had never seen a swing before.

The trading center of Kito is in the District of Luweero. The children who attend Kitiibwa come from poor farming families. If they can find work the parents earn about $4 a month digging in the fields.

Since the Kitiibwa School is in a busy trading center, a fence was built to keep them safe from the traffic..

Desks cost $45 each and can seat as many as 6 children. There is always a need for more desks at Kitiibwa.
